How do I deposit Cryptocurrency using the Portal?

A guide to depositing cryptocurrencies into your Caleb & Brown Portal wallet from other cryptocurrency platforms or external wallets.

Within the C&B Portal, you can deposit any of the hundreds of tokens we support. The process is automated, and we notify you within the Portal once the deposit has been successfully received.

Not all tokens function the same and some require you to include additional information like "memos" when transferring them. Below we run through the deposit scenarios you may be guided down, depending on the token you're trying to deposit.

  1. Address only

    1. Tokens like BTC and ETH, only require the single address

  2. Transaction ID & unit amount

    1. Theta is an example of a token that requires the inclusion of your transaction ID and unit amount deposited

  3. Memo ID

    1. XLM is an example of a token requiring a Memo ID to be included

  4. Transaction ID, unit amount & Memo ID

    1. Kava is an example of a token requiring the inclusion of transaction ID, unit amount, and memo ID

  5. If you don't see any information like barcode or TransactionID/MemoID/Unit amount please get in touch with your broker to deposit coins.

How do I deposit my crypto?

Regardless of the token, you'd like to deposit the general process is much the same.

  1. Login to the Portal

  2. Click on the Wallets drop-down button on the left-hand menu

  3. Click on DEPOSIT CRYPTO on the left-hand menu

  4. In the pop-up box, enter the token you'd like to deposit

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions

  6. Open your external wallet or exchange and transfer the funds

Depositing address-only tokens

When depositing tokens like Bitcoin (BTC), ETH (Ethereum), or most ERC-20 tokens we can create a unique wallet address that you can deposit directly into.

For these tokens, please follow the example below. In this example, we'll be depositing Bitcoin.

  1. Login to the Portal

  2. Click on DEPOSIT CRYPTO on the left-hand menu

  3. In the pop-up box, enter "BTC" or "Bitcoin" or select it from the list

  4. Copy or scan the address

    1. This is the address you'll enter in your external wallet or exchange

  5. Navigate to your external wallet or exchange and enter the address

    1. If you are doing this on your mobile device, you may scan the QR code

  6. Complete the withdrawal process on the external service

  7. You have now successfully deposited into your C&B Portal wallet, and your funds will appear within moments

Depositing tokens using Transaction ID (TX ID) and unit amount

  1. Login to the Portal

  2. Click on DEPOSIT CRYPTO on the left-hand menu

  3. In the pop-up box, for eg. enter "Theta" or select it from the list

  4. Copy or scan the address

    1. This is the address you'll enter in your external wallet or exchange

  5. Navigate to your external wallet or exchange and click on withdraw crypto

    1. Enter the recently copied address in the address field

    2. If you are doing this on your mobile device, you may scan the QR code

  6. Enter the amount you want to withdraw in your external wallet

  7. Complete the withdrawal process on the external service and once done you will get the Transaction ID (TX ID) for this withdrawal transaction. Copy this Transaction ID from your external wallet and navigate to the C&B portal and paste it into the deposit pop-up's transaction ID field.

  8. Click on Submit to deposit your coin.

  9. You have now successfully deposited into your C&B Portal wallet, and your funds will appear within moments

Depositing tokens using Memo ID

  1. Login to the Portal

  2. Click on DEPOSIT CRYPTO on the left-hand menu

  3. In the pop-up box, for eg. enter "XLM" or select it from the list

  4. Copy or scan the address

    1. This is the address you'll enter in your external wallet or exchange

  5. Navigate to your external wallet or exchange and click on withdraw crypto

    1. Enter the recently copied address in the address field

    2. If you are doing this on your mobile device, you may scan the QR code

  6. Copy the Memo ID from the recently opened C&B portal's deposit crypto pop-up and paste it into your external wallet's withdrawal page's memo field.

  7. Enter the amount you want to withdraw in your external wallet

  8. Complete the withdrawal process on the external service

  9. You have now successfully deposited into your C&B Portal wallet, and your funds will appear within moments

Depositing tokens using TX ID, unit amount, and Memo ID

  1. Login to the Portal

  2. Click on DEPOSIT CRYPTO on the left-hand menu

  3. In the pop-up box, for eg. enter "KAVA" or select it from the list

  4. Copy or scan the address

    1. This is the address you'll enter in your external wallet or exchange

  5. Navigate to your external wallet or exchange and click on withdraw crypto

    1. Enter the recently copied address in the address field

    2. If you are doing this on your mobile device, you may scan the QR code

  6. Copy the Memo ID from the recently opened C&B portal's deposit crypto pop-up and paste it into your external wallet's withdrawal page's memo field.

  7. Enter the amount you want to withdraw in your external wallet

  8. Complete the withdrawal process on the external service and once done you will get the Transaction ID (TX ID) for this withdrawal transaction. Copy this Transaction ID from your external wallet navigate to the C&B portal and paste it into the deposit pop-up's transaction ID field

  9. Enter the same amount into the deposit pop-up you withdrew from your external wallet.

  10. Click on Submit to deposit your coin.

  11. You have now successfully deposited into your C&B Portal wallet, and your funds will appear within moments.
