A Company Account is an account in the name of your legal entity, such as your business or commercial enterprise. Caleb & Brown supports most types of legal entity structures that are registered or incorporated with a local or national registering body.
Option 1: Opening a Company Account with a Single Beneficial Owner
To open a company account, as sole manager or member of the company, you will need to submit an application here. As you go through the registration process, you will need to verify your identity along with submitting documents to verify your entity.
The document required to verify the entity, will depend on the type of entity you wish to onboard.
Limited Liability Company (LLC): A notarised or certified as an original copy of the full LLC Operating Agreement or Current Company Extract
Corporation: A notarised or certified as an original copy of the full Articles of Incorporation or Shareholder Extract
Limited Partnership: A notarised or certified as an original copy of the full Limited Partnership Agreement
Other Legal Entity: A notarised or certified as an original copy of the full Company Articles of Organisation or Association, By-Laws, etc.
Your company documents must provide the following required information:
The full name of the company
The identification number of the company
The registered address or principal place of business of the company
The name of each manager/director/officer and shareholder/member, and any other beneficial owners
If you are unsure what notarisation or certification of documents involves, click the link here to see the help article on notarising or certifying your documents.
You will also be required to provide individual identity information as the account holder of the company account. In order to verify your own identity we will require the following:
You will need to supply a proof of address document, which can include:
A current and valid driving licence
A service/utility bill dated in the last 90 days
A current lease agreement
A bank statement dated in the last 90 days
An income statement or government-issued tax document
After uploading your proof of address document, the next step is the facial identification process which is done via Onfido, a document and facial identity verification software provider. If you want to learn more about Onfido see here. It will prompt you to upload a valid form of photo ID which can include:
A photo of your passport information page
A driving licence
A national identity or passport card
A permanent resident card
Important to note
Your ID must be current, unless it is an Australian passport, which may be expired up to within the last two years)
Documents uploaded must be a image of the document and NOT a scanned copy
Once you upload your photo ID, it will immediately prompt you to take a selfie image. This photo is taken within the registration using Onfido. The software will match up the photo with your photo ID to ensure you are the same person.
Option 2: Opening a Company Account with Multiple Beneficial Owners
If your Company Account has multiple managers, members, directors, and/or shareholders besides yourself, you will still be required to open an account as described in Option 1. However, we will also need to verify the other members of the legal entity.
Our onboarding team will reach out to you directly after you've registered if this applies to you. To verify the other members the onboarding team may request:
A photo of their passport or driving licence
A proof of address document
Our onboarding team reviews all documents, and will be there to support you through the registration. If you are unsure on what documents to supply or have questions you can reach out to them directly.
